Mallorca - Essential Information
Airport
Bus number 1 runs to and from Palma’s airport for around €2 and takes about 30 minutes. A taxi journey to Palma costs around €15 or more and takes 15 minutes. Usually there is a supplement of at least €3 for journeys to the airport.
Public Transport
The bus service on Mallorca is excellent. Within Palma you travel using a credit card that you can buy in tobacconists for €8. The card gives you 10 journeys. Bus number 3 goes all the way from an industrial area via Palma’s town centre to the Illetas beach. Public transport buses to Valldemossa and other popular villages leave from the bus station behind Plaza España. The 1911 train to Sóller departs just near the buses, and similar trains to Inca and Manacor.
Taxi
Taxis in Palma are a good and cheap. You can get to and from other places on the island for a reasonable sum of money. A 35-40 minute journey between Palma and Puerto de Sóller costs €35. The price includes the €4 charge for the tunnel.

Post Office
Post offices are open from 9 a.m-9 p.m except on Saturdays when they open 9 a.m-2 p.m. Stamps can also be bought at tobacconists.
Pharmacy
There are pharmacies all over the island, normal opening hours are 9 a.m-2 p.m and 5 p.m – 8 p.m. The main pharmacy in Palma is called Plano and is located on C/ De la Volta de la Mercè, 4.
