Lübeck’s Old Town sits on its island, Gothic spires piercing skyward. Cobbled lanes and winding alleys lead between tall, steep-gabled buildings of warm red brick. Tiny passageways enter hidden courtyards quiet, tree-shaded corners lie moments away from busy shopping streets. Former salt warehouses and boats with a history line the riverbanks, and leafy green canal-sidewalks take you instantly into country mode. There are museums, churches, splendid squares, secret gardens and surprises around every corner!
